As a lifeguard, you must possess the following skills:
• Comfortable in and around open water and familiar with safety considerations
• Proficient in deep water and basic watercraft use (Surfboard, paddleboard, kayak)
• Able to pass lifeguard prerequisite exam (550-meter open water swim, 2-minute tread without hands, etc.)
• Previous experience with children or teaching preferred
• Red Cross Certification or WSI certification preferred (but not required)
• Must be 18 years of age or older
